Richard C. Goulden Memorial Award

Through a gift from The Wildlife Society Manitoba Chapter Inc., and a contribution from the Manitoba Scholarship and Bursary Initiative, an endowment fund has been established at the University of Manitoba in memory of Richard C. Goulden. This fund honours his lifelong commitment to the wildlife and other natural resources of the Province of Manitoba.

The fund will support an annual award which will recognize graduate students whose research contributes to the overall knowledge of wildlife and/or habitats in Manitoba.

Eligibility

  1. Are enrolled full time in the Faculty of Graduate Studies in a Master’s or Ph.D. program at the University of Manitoba

  2. Have achieved a minimum grade point average of 3.5 based on the last 60 credit hours (or equivalent) of study

  3. Are members of The Wildlife Society Manitoba Chapter Inc at the time of receipt

  4. Are conducting research or have proposed to conduct research on wildlife and/or their habitats in Manitoba

  5. Are deemed by the selection committee to have submitted the top research proposal among the award applicants

Eligible students will be required to submit an application along with any required supporting documentation. (please see link below)

The recipient(s) of the award will be announced during the Manitoba Chapter Annual General Meeting (AGM) in March (see EVENTS tab for exact date). They will then be required to give a presentation on their research at the following year’s AGM.
