OUR CONSERVATION AFFAIRS COMMITTEE takes action
The Manitoba Chapter Conservation Affairs Committee (MB CAC) tracks policy issues affecting wildlife and wildlife habitats in the Province. It works to coordinate the development and dissemination of information required to inform wildlife authorities, policy makers, stakeholder groups, and the general public on wildlife management and conservation issues in Manitoba.
The CAC works to provide expert commentary on the science and state of understanding for a variety of wildlife management issues especially to the responsible government authorities and other organizations. This information is intended to assist with the discussions and decisions around wildlife issues so they can be made with the best available information.
The MB CAC accepts submissions from the membership on issues which they feel warrants the attention of the committee. Final action is based on the decisions of the Executive Committee.

On 1 November 2017, TWS-MB Past-President C-Jae Breiter, President-Elect Michel Leclaire, and CAC Members Stephen
Petersen and Scott Stephens met with Manitoba’s Minister of Sustainable Development, Rochelle Squires, and her staff as a follow up to some of the issues that the Chapter had addressed within the last year, including fisheries consultations, moose populations, wetland legislation, and the Climate and Green Plan.

Wildlife Topics for Student Projects
Annually, the CAC develops a list of pertinent term paper topics for post-secondary students studying wildlife management in Manitoba and provides it to members and contacts at universities and colleges across Manitoba for their use
