Beetle Workshop

The Fascinating World of Beetles

With over 400,000 species named thus far, and perhaps over a million more yet to discover, beetles are one of the world's most successful groups of animals.

This workshop will review why there are so many species (estimated 2500 in Manitoba), their basic structure, myriad of adaptations, and dazzling colours.

Several Manitoba field-research projects will be described, along with techniques to study beetles in the field and lab. Examples of specimens from Robert's personal collection of over 10,000 species will be displayed.

When:  Wednesday, June 18, 6:30-8:30 pm

Where: Winnipeg, exact location to be sent to registrants
